Our Medellin coffee is LA SIERRA's coffee.

LA SIERRA has been one of the neighborhoods hardest hit by violence in Medellin. However, it has preserved a cultural treasure throughout all these complex years and this has been coffee. Traditional varieties and almost purely natural organic soils are preserved because it was almost impossible to access here during the long periods of social unrest.

We will never get tired of explaining how important the hand picking coffee process is. With this process we can assure only the best of the best cherries are selected, meaning no sour flavors will be added by picking no mature enough cherries or maybe damaged ones.

This picture was taken in Las Brisas Farm, home to our Las Brisas Natural and Las Brisas Washed coffees. We loved visiting this farm and re affirm that environmental and social sustainability are core values of this amazing place.

After a long day of picking coffee cherries, coffee pickers weigh their sacks to keep control of their numbers. Depending on the farm, they get paid based on the weight per day or a standard rate per a determined amount of kilograms plus extra after they pass the day goal.
