The original reason the name Pueblo Rico (Rich Town) came to be was because when the Spanish conquerors arrived they were amazed to see all the native Colombian tribes who had a large amount of gold. After colonizing the area the economy was based on plantain, sugar cane, and great coffee production. The land is extremely fertile and to this day the name of “rich town” is still applicable in terms of how rich the land is for agriculture production. That’s why we are very happy to have this ‘rich’ origin in our menu.
