From Seed to Cup

Tamesis is a town located in Antioquia, it has been traditionally recognized as a coffee town over decades, however recently the youth population from the community began to enter new markets like avocados or flee the countryside for stronger economic prosperity in the cities, impacting the Tamesis coffee industry. Therefore, coffee producers created an association uniting knowledge, resources, and labor force, with a focus on engaging the youth through specialty coffee or new techniques.

Preserving the Tamesis tradition of coffee producers, The association called ASCAFE is directed by more than 25 small coffee growers that are located in different villages across the municipality of Tamesis. ASCAFE has government support thanks to the good impact generated in the families, supporting the coffee producers’ education and training.

One of their flagship coffees is The Tamesis washed, being exceptional due to its innovation from the traditional Antioquia washed process, with more detail-oriented operations. The result is a coffee with an exceptional profile with dark chocolate cupping profile with sugar cane and orange notes.
