Why Choose this Coffee?

The coffee beans are red right? Well not all of them, Pink Bourbon is a great example that coffee beans can be diverse, its beans are a hybrid between Red and Yellow Bourbon. A varietal that will awe any coffee lover, also with its elegant and balanced floral tones, a truly stunning cup of coffee.

Special Farming Practices

Being a different varietal, the Pink Bourbon coffee is more complex to produce, due to its unique characteristics. First, it has to grow in insolation to prevent cross-pollination also the altitude is key, TCP Pink Bourbon grows in higher altitudes at over 1,800 meters, lastly, the growers have to maintain the characteristic pink color un the beans, being a big challenge.

Why Support the Farmer

Pink Bourbon production is paid significantly above fair market rate in comparison to the FNC buy rate, a great tool for encouraging economic development. Also, the production provides young professionals opportunities for skilled employment in the coffee sector through barista schools, coffee quality control opportunities, and involvement in larger project development for their communities in partnership with the local government.

The Pink Exotic Coffee

Have you ever seen pink ripe coffee beans?

One of the most exotic Bourbon variations is the Pink Bourbon which is a hybrid between Red and Yellow Bourbon. It grows in higher altitudes at over 1,800 meters begging for resistance to leaf rust due to the altitude. Nevertheless, it’s a challenging coffee to cultivate due to its maintenance consistency of the cherry color. For instance, the Pink Bourbon trees have to be isolated in order to prevent cross-pollination and thwarted by the presence of yellow and red genes in a given pollen grain.

The taste of these Bourbon variations is unique and elegant with fruity and floral notes of peaches, grapefruit with a hint of umami, and green tea are great to amaze your taste buds.  In order to enjoy it fully we recommend a delicate roasting process and brewing it on pour-over, french press, or V8 techniques.
